THIS IS WHAT PASSES FOR A RIVAL NOW?

I’M stunned as fuck over the sheer number of ignorant Cowboys fans out there who claim to be NFL fans, yet don’t know about something as basic as NFL tie-breakers.

Don’t get me wrong some of them do, but there are specifically way too many Cowboys fans who don’t. Which says something right off the bat about how well Cowboy fans know this sport, this league, and what the fuck they’re talking about in general.

Not that it matters much. Fact is, the season isn’t ending today or next week, and each team still has 10 more games to go. On top of that, the EAGLES have the tougher schedule BY FAR, since we went to the playoffs last year after we sent the Cowboys home.

Then of course there are 2 head to head match-ups coming. A split leaves the argument on the table; but a sweep gives the winning team bragging rights until 2015, especially when the Cowboys miss the playoffs because of it.

Don’t get me wrong. I love posting memes telling the rest of the NFC East that we own them, but this is still October. I’ll leave the dancing in the streets over holding 1st place FOR FOUR HOURS, to the lesser team.

It’s almost like they held it for us (“Here bitch, hold this”) so we could pummel the Giants with both fists. After which we took it back so they could finish what we started Sunday night (“Get that shovel and bury that piece of shit in the basement with the Redskins.”).  And they damned well better do as we say, because if they don’t, 1st place won’t be about a tie-breaker, and their only division game will be a loss.

As they fade farther back in our rear…view….mirror…

But seriously EAGLES fans: If you should catch yourself in a debate over an NFL rule that really doesn’t apply right now (except for bragging rights); chances are you’re letting an idiot make you look like them. DON’T BE THAT GUY.

YESTERDAY on one of the pre-game shows someone said that the last time Philly went 3-0 was 2004. He followed it up with “and you know what happened that year.” Five hours later after a hard fought win, we were indeed 3-0. The pride in that record was unmistakable.

The funny thing about being undefeated is that people stop talking about your flaws. It’s as if a perfect record somehow places a team above criticism of any sort. The moment anyone brings any flaw up, it’s “Aw man! Why can’t you just be happy with the wins?!”

To be clear, I am happy with the wins. However I also know exactly what they are.

We’ve beaten 3 teams, who’ve played a combined 9 games, and have all of 2 combined wins. Both against Jacksonville. In every game we’ve played so far we’ve had to stage comebacks against teams that can’t get big leads against other opponents.

All of our 3 sacks have come against Jacksonville. 145 of our 326 rushing yards came against Jacksonville. Last year’s Rushing Leader LeSean McCoy is averaging 2.9 yards a carry, and has 1 touchdown on 70 touches (60 carries, 10 catches) so far.

Next week we get a San Francisco team that is no longer elite (far from it actually), but they aren’t the barely warm stiffs we’ve been pounding on so far in 2014. While it’s been nice to see our guys battle back and never give up like they did HERE, we have yet to see them impose their will in regard to doing the grunt work that is at the heart of the game of football.

Despite our domination of bad teams, there has been nothing to indicate yet that this team can hang with a playoff caliber team. That is unless you want to say that Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Washington are your idea of playoff caliber teams.  (Well maybe Indy.)

Understand, my point isn’t to bash or point fingers (notice how I didn’t place ANY blame), my point is only to say there is plenty here that we need to work on before we start with the “You know what happened the last time we were 3-0?” type of talk. Let me be the first to say it: A division win coupled with another one and done playoff run, would be hollow. If that’s the best we can do, I’d rather have a better Draft pick.

If we’re gonna make a REAL run, we need to make some REAL improvements.

JERRY Jones! Jer-ry Jones!

Not since Leon Lett, has there been a Hall of Shame case of showboating of this magnitude by the Dallas Cowboys. And yes that includes T.O.

I actually first saw this on Friday, but I thought it was one of us (EAGLES fans) just making a joke. But it’s no joke! F-Troop actually sent out playoff tickets which, (I shit you not) even includes tickets for the NFC Championship game, to their season ticket-holders.

Yes! The NFC Championship game. Yes! Those Dallas Cowboys. The perennial 8-8, stuck in limbo, “Hey does this rag smell like chloroform?” Dallas Cowboys. As if the EAGLES didn’t wax that ass when they at least had DeMarcus Ware. Now with Ware in Denver, and Sean Lee losing to the EAGLES at home on Madden, they’re supposed to somehow just ease on past us? Nah bruh. AIN’T HAPPENIN’! We’re talking prison shower scene in 2014. Just stroll up to their 50 yard line, and throw the soap on the ground. Right on “the star”.

This year is going to be special! Most of you are just getting know me, since Eaglemaniacal.com only just came out this year. FYI: I was never what you could call “gentle” to Cowboys fans, but this year…

This year it isn’t just Open Season; I’m treating it like I’m getting paid a ransom for every Cowboys fan I bag. And by “bag” I mean take ownership of. Yes. I will collect names. Yes. There will be a page for those names on my site. Like I said, I’ve never been gentle to Cowboys fans.

Jerry Jones has thrown down the gauntlet and I’m going to make his supporters pay for it. Especially since their trolls love crashing EAGLES pages, and there’s few things I love more than the taste of troll.

Surely Cowboys fans, (like all fans) want their team to go to the playoffs every year, but this year they need it to happen, because the mocking will be relentless if they don’t make it or suck from Day One. And I don’t mean mocking just during the off-season. I mean from NOW until at least Opening Day 2015. Yes my fellow fans, I’m starting TODAY, because until they prove otherwise, the Cowboys are just writing checks their asses are too broke to cash.

Playoffs? Yeah. I got your playoffs right here.

TURN UP, EAGLES FANS!!!!

EAGLES 24 Cowboys 22. How do you prefer to remember that game? As Brandon Boykin’s national coming out party? Maybe Kyle Orton’s retirement ceremony? I like to think of it as Chip Kelly’s first playoff game.

BTW the NFL Network is replaying it Monday at 5:30 p.m.

While it doesn’t count as an actual playoff game, there can be no doubt that there was a playoff atmosphere to it. It was literally win or go home for both teams. Same as a playoff game. While I think it wasn’t the stiffest test since Tony Romo wasn’t out there, the job is beating whoever they put in front of you, and our guys managed to get that done.

On Monday those of you who wish to re-live it, can watch it again. I’ll have it on but I won’t be able to actually watch, since it cuts across the time I usually reserve for researching and writing the next days article. Plus I have to get my fantasy rankings in order, because repeating as champ is FAR from automatic, (and I’m chasing a 4-peat this year).

I just thought I’d get the news out, that for once the NFL Network remembered that our games DO exist. Maybe if enough of us tune in and the ratings are high enough, they’ll be encouraged to show more of our games. That’s why my cable box will be tuned in even though I’m not.
