YESTERDAY with a goal of $3000.00 the Josh Innes Show on 94WIP radio raised over $10,000.00 for the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, Texas. It was a direct shot at the blinders that the Dallas Cowboys organization, fans, and local media are happy to wear in exchange for being able to produce 7-10 extra sacks this year.
Considering the amount of ambivalence towards acts committed by one of the players on the roster, you can’t help but think that (in general) cases of domestic abuse are thought little of in Dallas. So a couple of guys on WIP got pissed and used their microphone to see if they could do something. They wanted to see if we could ALL do something. They decided to raise some money.
This money isn’t for local women (because unlike Texas, Pennsylvania is not a Top 10 most likely state for women to be murdered by their partner). This money is to help women who are in harms way by having the misfortune of living in a place where their safety means less than pass rush on Sunday.
