IN the year when RB Saquon Barkley rushed for 2,000 yards, his QB Jalen Hurts averaged 10 rushing attempts per game. It forced opponents to slow down, to make sure that they read the play correctly. So that they weren’t chasing the wrong runner. The result: our leading rusher went for 2,005 yards and our QB tacked on 630 of his own.
So, this is me doubling down on that. I want to see more rushing yardage out of Hurts. Now that he’s operating more from under C, his play-action bootleg should be absolutely deadly. Especially if defenders guess wrong.
