I’M just going to say it: Between LB Jihaad Campbell and LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr., I’m not sure that we’re starting the right guy. Don’t get me wrong, Campbell is very talented, and at this early stage in his career, you can’t say much bad about him. He makes his presence felt against rival players.
Trotter on the other hand is out there keeping pace with offensive coaches. He’s not playing the guys on the field, he’s playing (plotting), against their scheme. He’s meeting the ball at it’s destination, beating blitz pick-ups to their gap. He’s just always in the right place at the right time.
Look, before we let him go like we did with LB Nakobe Dean, we need to be damned certain that that move isn’t going to blow-up in our faces twice a year. Get a good look at him and make the proper decision. (Which might involve letting LB Nolan Smith walk, and sliding Campbell over to that spot.)
