PRIOR to the Draft I picked the Redskins to win the NFC East, and right up until about 11 o’clock tonight I saw no reason to think anything different. However, with the Redskins coaching staff undermining their starting QB, inviting inner turmoil on their team, and possibly a looming split in the locker room; that all but guarantees that the Redskins won’t be able to focus on the task of winning games. Since no one is just going to hand them the division, it basically means my Pre-Draft prediction is null and void, because I’d have to give myself a friggin lobotomy to still believe it.
Understand that my issues with my team still stand. The fact that the Redskins just made themselves a little bit worse, in no way makes us a little bit better; or suddenly turns our weaknesses into strengths. Our interior Offensive Line and Secondary are clearly still question marks to anyone not holding a Dixie cup of Kool-Aid. We also have yet to see if QB Sam Bradford actually has the game-time presence to still be a starter. Hopefully we’ll see more than a few flashes of that tonight.
Even with all the Eagles question marks, there is no denying that the only team that could have stood against the Eagles in 2015 was the ‘skins. The giants problems were already bad before they got completely out of hand this summer. The Cowboys have just gone back to the 8-8 formula of “Let’s pile it all on Tony”. So with the ‘skins folding early, the East is ours for the taking. It’s not a given, but it’s as close as you’ll get when it comes to sports. Even the schedule favors us.
At this point all we have to do is not collapse. We went 4-2 in the division last year, and both of the teams we split with have defanged themselves. If we sweep the NFC EAST (yes I said that), and go 4-6 in the remaining 10 games, that’s 10-6 with no tie-breakers. Before today I had the Eagles maxing out at 9 wins this year, but if the ‘skins rollover and the split becomes a sweep, that’s the extra game right there, and 10 wins should be enough to win the division in 2015.
Sort of agree with you here. The skins o line has looked less than stellar and the crap coming RG s way is unacceptable. He has been mismanaged. The isolate, demean and rebuild approach with todays athletes especially at this level is very unprofessional. RG needs a new venue. Maybe Philly one day who knows. But, I agree that the team has turmoil and could unravel. If they respect Gruden it could come together . But if there is doubt about his approach look for trouble. Because of the losing in the Snyder era its easy to take the low road and get away with it.

Thank goodness our Interior O Line looked good last night. I agree with you about our secondary. Loved the line about Kool-Aid, it literally made me laugh out loud. Tks my guru.

Maybe the Secondary will prove me wrong like the Offensive Line is (so far) doing.
